Tortuguero
Village
Tortuguero is a small village located on the northeast coast of Costa Rica. It can be correctly recognized as an island with a tropical rainforest weather all year long.
Having approximately two thousand habitants.
Founded in the early 1930's and declared National Park in 1974 using 99% of its National Park land for conservancy and onbly 1% for tourism.
How to get to Tortuguero
Using Private Shuttle.
This will be the fastest and most convenient option besides flying, we do not provide this service directly, but, we can arrange the service for the guest if needed.
Some shuttles offer the aquatic transportation through public boats or using their own as well, .
Using Car
It would be an adventure, making your own stops on the way. You just need to enter l Pavona in your GPS/Waze App and it would drive you all the way up to the dock where you leave the car and take the boat to the island.
Using an Airplane/Airline
This would be the best option to get to the island, based on the travel time(approximately 20 minutes) between Capital City (San Jose) and Tortuguero. The Airline to fly to Tortuguero is Sansa Airlines which has multile routes all over Costa Rica.
Using Moin Dock
If you are coming from the South Caribbean(Cahuita - Puerto Viejo - Manzanillo) your easiest way in would be going to Moin Dock near Limon Downtown and from there take the 10:00 am boat.
It is only one boat a day from here and a reservation is needed.
Once at La Pavona Main Dock or Tortuguero Main Dock
Once you arrive at La Pavona main dock or Tortuguero's Main Dock, there would be certified guides from the hotel waiting for you with your reservation's name.
This service is to provide assitance during the travel if the guest required anything. once at Tortuguero these guides will take you to the hotel walking.
